Where PH winners go when
the fanfare ends.
We tracked every top-10 winner whose launch-day website no longer resolves (335 companies in total) and classified each one by what actually happened.
Most "dead URLs" aren't dead companies — they're rebrands, acquisitions, or marketing links that simply went stale. Shutdowns exist, but they're the minority.
53 rebranders — alive, at new addresses
These companies all shipped new domains and kept building. The most common outcome by a wide margin.
5 acquisitions
Their original domains went dark because their teams joined a bigger company.
June 4.0
June.so acquired by Amplitude; standalone product wound down Aug 8 2025; founders/engineers joined Amplitude
Cove
Cove (Sequoia-backed) acqui-hired by Microsoft; product shut down April 1 2026, all employees joined Microsoft
Coho AI
Coho AI shut down April 2025 after failing to monetize; Yotpo acquired CDP assets and absorbed ~12 employees in a quiet exit. Company no longer operates independently.
Arch
Arch (by Katanemo Labs) acquired by DigitalOcean April 2026 to accelerate Agentic Inference Cloud
Better Off
Better Off acquired by/rolled into Steward — modern estate planning platform; getbetteroff.com still live.
9 companies that stopped operating
Ran out of runway, couldn't monetize, or the team moved on to something else.
Hey AI
PH listing was taken offline. No independent domain exists for 'Hey AI AI-cupid dating'; only an iOS App Store reference with no confirmable active presence. No 2025+ activity found.
Height 2.0
Height.app officially shut down September 24, 2025 after 3.5 years and $18M funding; founder Michael Villar announced closure March 2025. No successor.

The original watchful.io/chatter (Reddit investor tracker) has no current footprint. A separately-built 'Chatter' at chatter-invest.com launched Nov 2025 is a different product by a different maker (Gavin Cho); not a successor.
Content Studio AI
contentstudioai.com now redirects to a Sedo domain parking/sales lander; product abandoned. Note: ContentStudio.io is a different, unrelated, active product.
Fluency
fluencyapp.com is a HugeDomains parked-for-sale page. PH listing says the original maker's site was getfluency.com.au. usefluency.com (US Fluency SOP tool, $6M seed) is a different company, not a successor.
AirBug
AirBug iOS live chat app was unpublished from the Apple App Store on December 5, 2024. No successor product or active domain found.
ElectMap USA
Event-dated 2024 election prediction project on gptengineer.run sandbox; served its purpose and has no continuing product or successor.
A dead URL isn't a dead company.
Of 335 companies whose launch-day sites no longer resolve, 53 simply rebranded and kept building, 5 got acquired, and 247 were tracking or marketing URLs that expired on perfectly alive brands. Only 9 actually stopped operating.
If you're launching on Product Hunt, the most likely outcome 18 months out isn't death. It's a new domain, a new name, or a quiet acquisition.
